Know your risk
What damages roofs in Ohio
These are the storms and conditions behind most roof and property damage we see in Ohio. If one has hit your area, get the roof checked before the damage spreads.
Hail
Hail bruises shingles, cracks tile and dents metal. From the ground it usually looks fine, so the damage goes unreported until the roof starts leaking.
Snow, ice and ice dams
Ice dams push water back under shingles, heavy snow loads stress flat and low-slope roofs, and freeze-thaw cycles open up small cracks.
Heavy rain and flooding
Water that gets into the building has to be found and dried quickly, or it turns into mold and structural damage.
