Disaster recovery

Our business is keeping you in business

When a hurricane, tornado, hail storm or fire hits your property, every day of downtime costs you. Our team responds fast, documents the full extent of the damage, and manages the recovery with our partners until your building is back to pre-loss condition or better.

Your partner in disaster recovery

After a catastrophe, owners face a long list of hard decisions: who to call first, what's damaged, what it will cost, and who can rebuild it. Our team guides you through every one of them. We bring in the mitigation crews, the roofing experts and the contractors your building needs, and we stay on the file from the first call to the final walk-through.

The path to recovery, under one roof

Recovery starts with an accurate picture of the damage. It continues through scheduling, vetting contractors, permits, rebuilding and final inspections. It ends with your property and your business back to where they were before the loss, or better. Our team manages every step.

  1. RespondOur team gets on site with the people and equipment the loss calls for. We secure the building with emergency dry-in, tarping, shrink wrap or board-up so the damage stops spreading.
  2. MitigateOur main mitigation partner, Capital Restoration, or one of our mitigation partners across the nation, extracts water, dries the structure and handles smoke, soot and mold.
  3. DocumentEvery roof, wall and system is inspected, photographed and mapped, and matched to the storm data for your address.
  4. ScopeWe write a full scope of the damage and the cost to restore it, with code upgrades listed separately, and meet the adjuster on site.
  5. RebuildThe experts at Precision Construction and Roofing or River City Roofing Co. install the new roof system, and licensed Approved Contractors restore the interior.
  6. Close outFinal inspections, warranty paperwork and a last walk-through with you. Your file stays organized long after the job is done.

We make sure nothing is missed

Storm damage is easy to miss and easy to argue about later. Our team documents every loss with the tools that find damage you can't see from the ground, and we bring in independent engineers and meteorologists when a loss needs them.

Drone mapping

An aerial layout of every roof on the property, with each finding, core and photo pinned to where it was taken. Wide-area losses can be surveyed quickly and safely.

Infrared thermal imaging

Wet insulation holds heat differently, so a thermal scan shows where water has got in under a flat roof membrane.

Moisture surveys

Readings taken on a grid confirm and map the wet areas, so the scope covers all of the damage, not just the obvious parts.

Core cuts and test squares

Small, repaired samples that show fractured reinforcement, crushed insulation and wet layers underneath.

Site-specific storm data

We confirm the storm date, hail size and wind speeds reported near your address, so your file shows when the damage happened.

Photo exhibits

Every finding numbered, photographed and located on a map, so your adjuster, engineer or lender can follow exactly what we saw.

Fast response, in-depth analysis, timely reporting

The facts first, so you can make decisions

You get early findings from our team as soon as the site visit is done, followed by a full report with photos, maps, storm data and a recommended scope. Whether your property needs a simple evaluation or a full investigation with engineers, you get the same quick response and the same careful work.

Accurate documentation is how owners recover the full cost of a loss. In one Southern Illinois hail loss, our team's test cuts, an independent engineer and meteorologist, and a joint reinspection with the carrier's own consultant took the approved amount from $1.94M to more than $4.03M.

SkyView Restoration Group is not a public adjuster or law firm. Results vary; no claim outcome is guaranteed. Every loss is different.

Disaster recovery services

A building's exterior, and the roof most of all, takes the worst of every storm. Our team covers it from the first inspection to the final punch list, for commercial, multifamily, industrial and residential properties.

Property loss inspection

We arrive at the loss with the people and equipment needed to document the damage properly and on time. A full site investigation records the building size, construction materials and the damage to the structure.

  • Full site investigation and photo documentation
  • Building size, materials and construction recorded
  • Separate costs for restoration and code upgrades

Building inspection

The whole building envelope, not just the roof: walls, windows, gutters, HVAC units and outbuildings, everywhere storm damage shows up.

  • Site-specific storm data for the date of loss
  • Drone inspections and aerial mapping
  • Moisture mapping of the building envelope
  • Wind, hail and water damage identified and marked
  • Possible code issues flagged early

Roof inspection

A written roof report that lists the roof system, where the damage is, and what we recommend: a repair, a new roof system, or nothing at all.

  • Hail impact and granule loss checks
  • Thermal imaging and moisture surveys
  • Core cuts and test squares on flat roofs
  • Shingle, tile, slate, metal and flat roof systems

Damage scope and estimating

A detailed scope of the damage and the cost to restore it to pre-loss condition, so you know what the recovery involves before the rebuild starts.

  • Line-by-line construction scope
  • Code upgrade items listed separately
  • Meeting the adjuster on site to walk the scope

Construction project management

We act as your representative through the rebuild, so you can get back to running your business.

  • Attending project meetings on your behalf
  • Scheduling contractors and coordinating inspections
  • Telling you right away about anything that could delay the job
  • Daily logs of progress, weather, crews and work done
  • Tracking equipment, materials and labor charged to the job

Mitigation and emergency protection

Our team stops the damage at the roof, and our main mitigation partner, Capital Restoration, handles the inside of the building.

  • Emergency dry-in, tarping and shrink wrap
  • Water extraction and structural drying
  • Mold remediation, fire and smoke restoration

Some of our regular engagements
