Specialty is their craft
Clay tile, slate, cedar shake, historic restoration and custom copper, fabricated and installed by their own crews. Ludowici Roofer of the Year ten years running.
Precision is one of our roofing partners, and the experts we bring in for specialty roofs: historic clay tile, natural slate and custom copper on churches, institutions and landmark homes. Ludowici named Precision its Roofer of the Year every year from 2016 to 2025.
Founded by a father and son, Precision grew into a nationwide company specializing in historic slate and tile roof replacement, with offices in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Pennsylvania. Precision has been a Roofing Contractor Top 100 company for nine years running and was named to the Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing companies.
Over 25 years our team has worked beside, competed against and vetted hundreds of roofing contractors. These are the reasons we chose to work with Precision.

Churches, cathedrals, campuses and landmark buildings carry roofs that ordinary crews can't walk on, let alone match. Precision's crews are factory trained on the tile, slate and copper these buildings were built with.
Slate, clay tile and copper systems are matched to the original profiles, textures and patinas, so the building keeps its architectural character.
Certified by the manufacturers preservation boards ask for: Ludowici tile, Vermont and North Country slate, and custom copper flashings.
High-resolution drone imagery of every ridge, valley, tile and flashing, without anyone stepping on a fragile roof, with a written report of what was found.
Routine inspections and a maintenance schedule with a budget forecast, so an institution can plan ahead instead of reacting to leaks.
Warranties that cover both materials and workmanship.
After a storm or a leak, crews secure the building and get the congregation or the public back inside with as little disruption as possible.
Hurricane, hail and wind losses on historic churches, restored to their original condition.

After a severe hailstorm, a complete re-roof in Ludowici clay tile, with the gutters and spire restored and the church's architecture preserved.

Restored after Hurricane Ida under Precision's Jeremy Bates. The roof and the complex copper cupola were custom fabricated and the Ludowici tile roof returned to its pre-loss condition.

Historic Ludowici tile roofs damaged by Hurricane Ida, restored by Jeremy Bates and the Precision team.

After a wind and hail event, project manager Travis Miller's team replaced 130 squares of Ludowici tile with 14" Williamsburg tile in Forest Green, with all-new copper accessories.

340 squares of Ludowici clay tile restoration and 460 squares of Brava Spanish synthetic tile, topped by a custom copper dome.

Copper roofs, domes, cupolas and spires, fabricated in Precision's own shop and installed by its crews.

Hail damage on a historic roof is hard to see from the ground, and easy to make worse. The wrong crew can break more tile walking the roof than the storm did, and the insurance company won't pay for that.
Hail as small as 1" can crack or chip the surface of a clay tile and weaken it. New tile absorbs almost no water, but once the finish is broken, water collects in the cracks, freezes and widens them until the tile fails.
Slate is layered stone. Hail can puncture, crack or break it, or knock layers off. Older and softer slates, like some Pennsylvania slate, are easier to damage.
Once the tile or slate fails, the underlayment is all that's keeping water out, and it doesn't last nearly as long. On a roof over 50 years old, assume it's no longer doing its job.
